• DIMMING TOBIAS GRAU LED LUMINAIRES

    Our LED luminaires are designed for standard dimming with a phase control rotary dimmer for electronic ballasts and any type of house wiring.

    Both conventional 230V switch collections (flush-mounted box 68mm/depth 50mm) and our PLUG&DIM switch programme can be used with standard dimming.

    For 1-10V dimming with a rotary potentiometer, 1-10V lighting control system, DALI lighting control system or Casambi, please contact your retailer.

    LED standard dimming with a phase control rotary dimmer for electronic ballasts

    Tobias Grau LED luminaires can be dimmed from 100% - 30% with a phase control rotary dimmer for electronic ballasts. This requires 3-core wiring with only 2 or 3 wires in the switch box. This further requires a rotary dimmer with push on/off function and a minimum load range smaller than or equal to 20 W. The possibility for subsequent fine adjustment of the minimum range should also be available. Tobias Grau luminaires and converters have been tested with phase control rotary dimmers for electronic ballasts from a wide variety of different manufacturers, however, the possibility of isolated malfunctions unfortunately can not be entirely excluded. In the majority of cases, such malfunctions are caused by the dimmer and not by the luminaire. We accept no liability in such cases.

    Two-phase dimming, i.e. the dimming of two independent groups, spotlights and suspension luminaires for example, requires 5-core wiring in addition to a phase control rotary dimmer for electronic ballasts.

  • 1-10V dimming with rotary potentiometer

    1-10V dimming with a rotary potentiometer requires 5-core wiring and in addition that our LED luminaires / CHOICE FIXTURES must be equipped with 1 – 10V ballasts. They can then be dimmed from 100% - 5% using a rotary potentiometer.

    Two-phase dimming requires 8-core wiring and an additional rotary potentiometer.

  • Dimming with a 1-10V lighting control system

    Dimming with a 1-10V lighting control system requires 5-core wiring and an appropriate lighting control system, e.g. BUS, KNX, etc. In addition, our LED luminaires / CHOICE FIXTURES must be equipped with 1-10V ballasts.

    Two-phase dimming requires 8-core wiring and appropriate integration with the control system.

  • Dimming with a DALI lighting control system

    Dimming with a DALI lighting control system requires 5-core wiring and an appropriate DALI control system. In addition, our LED luminaires / CHOICE FIXTURES must be equipped with DALI ballasts.

    Multi-phase dimming also requires 5-core wiring. It is achieved without rewiring via the DALI control system or DALI programming and is reflected in the corresponding extension of the control panel.

  • Dimming with Casambi

    With Casambi it is possible to use an app on a smartphone or tablet to dim Tobias Grau LED luminaires from 100% - 5% with 3-core wiring with minimum two wires in a switch box. Groupings and lighting scenarios can be programmed, saved and retrieved as required. If a Casambi dimming module is used for 2 light sources, these light sources are depicted as one luminaire. Optionally, a wireless Casambi switch is also available and can be used to control up to 4 luminaires independently of one another.

    The requirements for Casambi dimming are that our LED luminaires / CHOICE FIXTURES be equipped with 1-10V ballasts and one of more Casambi dimming modules.

    SENSOR TECHNOLOGY

  • SENSOR LUMINAIRES

    The sensor we have developed includes an infrared motion detector and a constant light controller. The motion detector switches the respective luminaire on/off depending on perceived movement. The constant light controller dims the light in accordance to the level of ambient brightness. The basic settings can be customised as desired using the remote control provided.

    The following special functions are available, for example:

    • Adjustment of the sensitivity trigger of the motion detector
    • Adjustment of the start scene (for example, indirect instead of direct / indirect)
    • Manual initial switching on / off of the luminaire despite activated motion detector
    • Temporary deactivation of the constant light controller through manual dimming

  • LIGHTDIM CONNECT - SWARM

    To guarantee the optimal basic illumination in open structures e.g. open-plan spaces with sensor luminaires, the luminaires can be fitted with LIGHTDIM CONNECT.

    The luminaires are linked by a radio signal. Even in areas where no movement is registered, they can be programmed to not switch off completely, but illuminate with reduced brightness, until the last person has left the room. Room zoning, individual planning and programming is possible.

  • LIGHTDIM CONNECT - SPECIAL FUNCTIONS

    The automatic activation of the luminaires by the motion detector can cause unrest in open spaces.

    By activating the special function - manual first switching - the respective luminaires are not automatically switched on despite motion detection. The motion detector ist activated only by manually switching on the luminaire.

  • LIGHTDIM CONNECT - SHARED OFFICE (IN PREPARATION)

    LIGHTDIM CONNECT luminaires will also be suitable for the shared office. Information about office utilisation and free work stations can be made available with this module

  • GLARE REDUCTION

    Whether with high-quality optical lenses, our specially developed and patented OSA glare control technology for the XT-A range, or the LP laser panels of the XT-S range, for us, an optimally glare-free lighting effect from the luminaires is of utmost importance.

    OPTICAL LINES - LENS TECHNOLOGY

    For many of our luminaires and spotlights, we use specially designed and calculated optical lenses. They not only reduce glare and optimise the lighting effect, but often form an aesthetic part of the luminaire.

  • OSA TECHNOLOGY

    OSA stands for open structure antiglare, with which a highly efficient, above-average glare reduction, and extremely uniform illumination is achieved.

  • LASER PANEL - LP TECHNOLOGY

    The laser panel LP consists of a plurality of special layers produced by laser technology. The highly efficient LED light that is fed in from the sides of the luminaire is emitted upwards and downwards in an optimally glare-free manner. This allows for a very slim XT-S luminaire head, which creates a very pleasant and even illumination.
